Kyri Jacobs Named One of Maryland’s Top 100 Women

OWINGS MILLS/ COLUMBIA, Md.—Kyri Jacobs, executive vice president and shareholder of Bonnie Heneson Communications (BHC), was named one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women, which recognizes outstanding achievement by women through professional accomplishments, community leadership and mentoring. She also received the honor in 2009.

Jacobs has spent 20 years as a communications, public relations, advertising, media and marketing professional, leading major campaigns for some of BHC’s largest clients. As an agency principal, she is integral in the company and has managed agency operations for more than 10 years. She continues to play a hands-on role for clients, serving as a strategic counselor and advising BHC senior managers on development and implementation of effective communications, advertising and marketing plans.

In addition to leading BHC, Jacobs serves in leadership roles in Howard County and has been recognized for her achievements. She joined the HC DrugFree board in 2007 and has served as chair since 2009. Jacobs also serves on the board of Leadership Howard County and as a member and past president of the Maryland Society of Healthcare Strategy and Market Development.

Prior to joining BHC, Jacobs worked for the Pennsylvania-based Ohio Valley General Hospital. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English writing from the University of Pittsburgh. She lives in North Laurel.

To promote the opening of the Stanford Grill in Columbia, BHC developed an invitation for a VIP pre-opening reception, which we also helped execute. In addition, BHC coordinated an extensive and highly successful PR campaign and updated the existing website.

To ensure a brand is well-formulated and impactful, all marketing materials must generate the same look, feel and tone. To that end, BHC developed the Doctors Community Hospital (Lanham, Md.) patient handbook, which had to correspond with the DCH brand BHC crafted.

After strategizing on how best to further market services of the Baltimore-based Upside Down Organization, BHC developed a masthead, edited copy and utilized software to send out a timely and informative e-newsletter, resulting in increased interaction with customers who ordered products, registered for a hosted event or booked a speaker for their organization.
