Kyri Jacobs Ranks Among Maryland's Top 100 Women

Owings Mills/Columbia, Md.—Kyri Jacobs, executive vice president and shareholder of Bonnie Heneson Communications (BHC), has been named one of Maryland's Top 100 Women, an honor that recognizes outstanding achievement in business and community service. Jacobs' 16-year commitment to BHC has helped earn her a partnership in the business, and her commitment to Howard County has helped BHC grow.

Jacobs, a North Laurel resident, saw an amazing business opportunity for Owings Mills-based BHC in Howard County. She took a plunge and opened an office, based in Columbia. Despite the current economy, the company has seen increased revenue and staff has nearly doubled in size. In the company's main office an in-house graphics arts department was developing, after nearly 20 years of outsourcing. In less than a year, BHC hired three full-time graphic arts professionals. The move allowed BHC to better control costs as well as output, and has allowed them to take on more projects.

Outside of BHC, Jacobs's time is split between her commitment to her community and her commitment to her family. In her Howard County community, she is a member of the 2009 class of Leadership Howard County. She is vice chair of the HC DrugFree executive board and chairs the board's marketing committee. She's also active with the Howard County Chamber of Commerce.

Her dedication to her family begins with son, Kyle, daughter, Elizabeth and husband Scott. She's active in her church, Emmanuel United Methodist Church, serving as the band leader and singing in the church's contemporary band as well as mentoring church teens. She also serves on the Executive Board of the Hammond Elementary School PTA. She's a cookie mom for Elizabeth's Girl Scout troop and supports Kyle's boy scout adventures.
